The Aiphone IX-RS-B is a black, surface-mount IP audio answering / room sub station for Aiphone IX and IXG Series systems. It provides handset and hands-free communication over a standard IP network and is designed for offices, schools, healthcare facilities, commercial buildings, security desks and other locations that need reliable two-way intercom communication.

Important: The IX-RS-B is an audio answering/sub station, not a video door station. It does not include an integrated video camera or display.

School Classroom-to-Admin Intercom Configuration

The IX-RS-B is particularly well suited as a classroom communication station. For better room coverage, connect an Aiphone SP-2570N ceiling speaker directly to the IX-RS-B's 8-ohm, 2-watt external speaker output using the speaker's direct 8-ohm tap.

At the administrative office, an Aiphone IX-MV7-HB can serve as the master answering station. The IX-MV7-HB and IX-RS-B communicate over the IX / IXG IP network, while the SP-2570N is wired locally to the classroom IX-RS-B. This configuration is ideal for classroom-to-admin communication because it combines centralized answering with improved classroom audio coverage.
